Common use
Orlijohn capsule is a medicine used in the treatment of obesity. It helps the body in blocking the absorption of fats from the small intestines and stomach. This way it can help reduce calorie intake and weight loss over time.
Dosage and direction
Orlijohn capsule is generally taken orally 3 times daily, during (or up to 1 hour after) each main meal containing fat. It can also be taken up to 2 hours after midmeal. It works best when it is used along with regular physical activity and a healthy diet. It should not be taken for a long term unless your doctor tells you to do so. For better efficacy of the medicine, fat-rich foods should be avoided along with the medicine.
Precautions
Inform your doctor before taking the medicine if you have any other medical conditions or are taking any other medications. This medicine should not be considered as a long-term treatment unless you are prescribed by your doctor.
Contraindications
You should not take Orlijohn capsule if you are allergic to it, have difficulty absorbing food (chronic malabsorption syndrome), and have cholestasis (a condition where the flow of bile from the liver is blocked). Refrain from using Orlijohn if you are taking cyclosporine medicine or blood thinners like warfarin. Along with that, avoid Orlijohn capsule if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Possible side effect
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them. Common side effects of Orlijohn: Fat in stool; Bowel incontinence; Flatus with discharge; Increased urge to pass bowels; Increased bowel movements; Abdominal pain, and Diarrhea.
Drug interaction
Taking Orlijohn with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects: Levonorgestrel (Oral); Ulipristal acetate (Oral); Estradiol (Oral); Glibenclamide (Oral); Progesterone (Oral).
Missed dose
If you miss a dose of Orlijohn capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical attention.

Store Orlijohn below 30°C. Keep away from children and pets.
